Workout #1 Week 1 (1)
5 minute treadmill warm-up, push-ups replaced with flyes because wrists hurt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PUfTNVw6gw

Workout #1 Week 1 (2)
5 minute treadmill warm-up, push-ups done on dumbbells to ease wrist force. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5okk14CLfpk

Workout #1 Week 1 (3)
I know this one looks lame but hear me out. I did two sets of pull-ups and for some reason they didn’t record and I also did a set of rows with the dumbbells and apparently I forgot to record that too. The whole thing took about 10-15 minutes including breaks, and it’s an upper back/bicep workout in order to include the upper back which isn’t being worked in these home workouts. I also walk up a hill everyday on my way back from school which is about 20 minutes so please I did my bonus activity, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVPI2faFar0

Workout #1 Questions
-Personally I’m not a fan of one minute sets because I like to separate my cardio and my strength training and the one minute sets feel like cardio rather than strength training.
-I liked the plank because 1 minute of planking seems like a moderate challenge for me, and unlike some of the other exercises, it is normal to do for 1 minute straight.
-I didn’t like the pushups (on the day that I did them) because they hurt my wrists.
-It was very difficult to fit these workouts in this week as I get home around 7, eat dinner, do homework and am usually very tired at the time that I could possibly do these workouts. Due to this, I did both workouts between Friday and Sunday, and am now finishing this blog post last minute. I may try working out in the mornings some days if I have time.
-Squats, Lunges, and Bridges
-Plank, Leg Raises, Russian Twists
-Pull-ups and Horizontal rows for upper back and Push-ups and Bent over flyes for chest
-Shoulder press, push-ups, Lateral raises

Workout #2 Week 2 (1)
Flyes instead of push-ups, and only 3 sets of dips because wrists hurt, everything else 4.

Workout #2 Week 2 (2)
Same as above except last time I did burpees I got really dizzy so I did squats instead.

Workout #2 Week 2 (3)
This time we did a 15 minute treadmill workout condensed into a nice little time-lapse for you. It looks pretty funny.

Workout #2 Questions
-I prefer the 1 minute challenge because the short work and rest sets of Tabata leaves me tired by set 3-4 and I feel like my form then gets sloppy.
-More or less the same.
-The exercise selection across all of the workouts is not very varied, due to the limited amount of exercises that can be done at home with no equipment, so for that reason I’m excited to go back to my own workouts.
-About 8 servings. On days when I eat at home I am probably getting enough but when I’m at school I have long days and don’t eat very much, so I could remedy that by bringing more food with me to school every day, and in this case making sure I have enough vegetables and fruit.
-Carbs, Protein, Fat, Water, Vitamins, and Minerals.
-Complex carbs like whole wheat bread, pasta, brown rice, cereals.
-Simple carbs like white bread and cake, as well as processed carbs like candy and potato chips.
-I could stand to cut down on the “white” carbs. I eat a lot of bread as well as white rice with every meal and cutting down on that would help me.

Workout #3 Week 3 (1-2)
This week I put both workouts into one video for ease of viewing and my own editing.

Workout #3 Week 3 (3)
Apart from again the walking to and from school, I had a particularly strenuous walk back from a gig on Saturday in St-Laurent in the cold with my large instrument, it was a leg and an arm workout and all the walking was a cardio workout too. Here’s some video evidence.

Workout #3 Questions
-Not too intense, I could do all 8 without stopping.
-I get back at around 7-8PM every day so after I eat it’s kind of a struggle to fit it in. Normally I’d do my workouts in the morning but because I have to walk around with my phone and film the whole thing and consult the paper it takes me 30-40 minutes per workout at least, so it’s not realistic.
-To prevent injury, warm-ups are implemented to get the blood flowing in the body and prepare the joints and muscles for the work they are about to do. A full body, heart rate increasing warm-up is a good start, but for heavy lifting, lightly working the movements that will be trained with weights is important.
-I think I’ve gained weight, I used to work out pretty much everyday but because I feel pressured to film and finish these workouts, I can’t really get motivated to do my own again until this is over.
-Prevent obesity, reduce risk of heart disease and diabetes as well as lower rates of depression.
-Feel more confident, less anxiety, heightened concentration, less chance of depression.
-Muscles eat calories and thus will increase your metabolism. As you age, the muscle you developed at a younger age will help you maintain basic strength as an elder. Development of posture muscles will support good posture and lower risk of injury related to bad posture.
-Lower back strengthening like deadlifts or supermans, upper back strengthening like pull-ups or lat pull-downs, and also shoulder stretches like the one where you clasp your hands behind your back.

Workout #4 Week 4 (1-2)
Both workouts in one video, unfortunately I tried to do timelapse on my phone which sped the video up way too much but this workout was the most intense so I didn’t want to redo it.

Workout #4 Week 4 (3)
Treadmill again, I only recorded the cool down so you can see the distance I ran, I really didn’t feel like setting up my phone but the treadmill stats prove it so.

Workout #4 Questions
-I did 40 of each exercise except tricep dips and rows (which I replaced push-ups for) I did 30. First workout took about 20 minutes and second workout took about 16. I didn’t time exactly I just looked at the clock and the time of my videos so the estimates are slightly rough.
-In and out planks are just a very physical thing and it gives me a headache so that was the most annoying exercise to do.
-I don’t think my fitness level has improved too much because this is already kind of the minimum activity that I did before this class, so I’d say it has probably stayed the same and not gotten better or worse, as my time to complete exercises and my max reps are around the same.
-I already worked out before this, and I will continue to after this.
-3-5 times a week, 20-60 minutes, 65-80% max HR.
-Legs, Trunk, Chest, Upper Back, Shoulders
-Sqauts, Deadlift, Push-up, Pull-up, Shoulder Press
-2-3 sets of 12-15 reps 2-3 times a week.
